Handcrafted masalas, hand-picked spices, and a family kitchen that hasn’t cut a corner since the doors first opened on Boundary Road. Still family-run. Still St John’s Wood’s table for it.
In 1964, 113 Boundary Road opened as an Indian kitchen with one rule: nothing pre-mixed, nothing shortcut. Sixty years on, that rule hasn’t moved.
Every masala at Meghna Grill is still ground and blended in-house from spices we choose by hand — the same discipline that opened this kitchen in 1964, now carried by the next generation of the family. It shows up across the menu: Chettinad prawns and Kerala fish pollichathu alongside the butter chicken and biryani London already knows, all built from the same hand-blended base.
What hasn’t changed is the room itself — a warm, unhurried dining room on a quiet NW8 street, run the way a family restaurant should be.
Every spice mix ground and blended in-house from hand-picked spices — never a pre-mixed shortcut.
Punjabi tandoor classics sit beside Chettinad, Kerala and Malabar dishes — the full map of India, one menu.
Same corner of Boundary Road since 1964, now run by the family’s next generation.
From charcoal-grilled starters to slow-built curries, biryani and dosa — every dish built on our own hand-blended masalas.

The Meghna Grill served quite possibly the finest Indian food I have had in years, if not ever. The atmosphere was impeccable, as was the charm and attentiveness of the hostess and wait staff.
Really lovely restaurant — overall, really delicious food and good service. Recommend the Kerala fish starter and prawn curry!
The server was outstanding, and I had a delicious chicken biryani — not too spicy, but spicy enough. Order the mango sorbet for dessert.
Amazing cooking, lovely service from Kavya! Hand made cuisine, fresh and flavorful. Gorgeous spice. Intimate dining room, so relaxing.
